One of the biggest jazz stars. Violinist, saxophonist, composer and arranger, he actively works to support young talents.
He became a world-famous jazz star after recording the album “TUTU” with Miles Davis. He has collaborated many times with such jazz masters as: Quincy Jones, Billy Cobham, Stephane Grappelli, Joe Zawinul, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Kenny Garrett, George Benson, Marcus Miller, Jaco Pastorius, Toots Thielmans, Kenny Kirkland, Larry Coryell, Lennie White , Alphonze Mouzon.
He is the creator, leader, composer and arranger of his own projects: “Jazz Legends”, “Fusion”, “Urbanator”, “UrbSymphony”. He performed several times at Carnegie Hall and in many famous world and New York jazz clubs, such as Blue Note, Village Vanguard, Sweet Basil. He is the recipient of numerous awards and winners of plebiscites. In 1992, his name was ranked first in the prestigious jazz magazine “Down Beat” in 5 categories among the greatest jazz stars. He has recorded over 60 albums.
He is an Honorary Citizen of the City of Łódź.
