The International Festival of Music Producers and Sound Deisgners Soundedit will take place in Łódź for the eleventh time. The Łódź Event Centre has signed a four-year contract with the Festival (2019-2022).
“The first decade is behind us. I think that the 10th edition of Soundedit was a successful summary of our festival’s achievements. We’re not going to rest on our laurels. Thanks to the fact that the Łódź Event Centre is our partner, we can continue the development of musical initiatives. We have signed a new, four-year cooperation contract. We are happy and thankful for this trust! Such a contract is like a commitment to the continuous improvement of the quality of our joint activities. We will present many great artists, but above all we will develop the educational part of the Festival”, says Maciej Werk, director of Soundedit.
This year, the first announced names of the “Man with the Golden Ear” award are: Australian Mick Harvey and Stanisław Soyka. They will receive the awards during a ceremony, which will take place on October 26 (Saturday) at Wytwórnia Club in Łódź. The ceremony will be accompanied by performances of both artists. Stanisław Soyka is planning to invite his renowned friends to participate in his concert.
Mick Harvey will play Serge Gainsbourg’s songs at this year’s only concert in Poland. Harvey is an Australian multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer. He performed with such bands as: Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Crime And The City Solution, The Birthday Party and The Boys Next Door. He produced recordings for PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Rowland S. Howard and Anita Lane.
For years, he has not been shy about his love for Serge Gainsbourg’s work. He has released four albums with his own interpretations of the music and lyrics of the French singer. The latest one, “Intoxicated Women” consists mainly of duets with different female singers.
Stanisław Soyka is a vocalist, instrumentalist and composer. He has been one of the greatest artists of the Polish music scene for many years. He composes and sings songs about love and lack of it, songs about longing and fulfilment. He does not run away from the great problems of modern times. His work includes over thirty albums, with some that achieved multi-platinum numbers. He has never succumbed to fashion and trends. His latest album is entitled “Muzyka i słowa Stanisław Soyka”. He will be honoured with the “Man with the Golden Ear” award.
The Saturday evening will be opened by the vocalist, bassist, songwriter and composer Misia Furtak. Winner of the Polityka’s Passport Award, Fryderyk Award and the Grzegorz Ciechowski Award. Former frontman of the band Très.B and solo project Misia Ff. She has recently release her new album “Co przyjdzie?” During her shows, she is accompanied by an excellent line-up: co-author of three compositions on the album and one half of the duo tęskno – Hania Rani (piano, vocal) and clarinetist – Michalina Bieńko.
The main events of this year’s edition of the Soundedit Festival will take place at Wytwórnia club on 24-27 October 2019. On October 26th (Saturday), as part of the 11th edition of the Soundedit Festival, Misia Furtak, Mick Harvey and Stanisław Soyka will perform. On the same night, the “Man with the Golden Ear” award ceremony will take place. So far, thirty-eight outstanding Polish and foreign music producers have received it. On 25th October (Friday), Nitzer Ebb and DAF will play at Wytwórnia.
Tickets for Saturday, with performances by Misia Furtak, Mick Harvey and Stanisław Soyka cost 111 PLN. Tickets for Friday, with performances by Nitzer Ebb and DAF also cost PLN 111.
