10 years of Soundedit – A day with Mr. Korzyński!

Andrzej Korzyński, the renowned and respected composer, arranger and producer, will receive the “Man with the Golden Ear” award during Soundedit Festival. The organisers decided to honour his achievements by dedicating a whole day to the work of this outstanding artist. At the same time, the Festival for the first time organises events that should appeal to children.

– My idea for Soundedit Festival has always been simple: “To do things that have not been done before.” I have been pondering the idea of Andrzej Korzyński being a guest of the Festival for a long time. It has also taken me some time to develop a whole day for the younger audience. Of course, not only children are invited on Sunday, October 28th. We invite everyone who values music composed by the winner of the “Man with the Golden Ear” award and remembers “Mr. Kleks” movies fondly. There will be concerts, screenings, meetings and workshops. Let me just remind you that on Saturday, after the performance of Giorgio Moroder, Andy Votel will appear on the stage, to present a visual-musical interpretation of music and films about Ambroży Kleks – says Maciej Werk, director of Soundedit Festival.

The morning with Mr. Kleks will begin on Sunday, October 28 at Wytwórnia Club at 10 AM. The children’s band The Recyklofons will play a concert of Andrzej Korzyński’s works, The Recyklofons plays Korzyński. Earlier, there will be workshops on building instruments and searching for sounds. The propagator of the idea of ”Recyclophonia” is Suavas Lewy. His method consists in hand-making instruments and sound objects from seemingly useless things and garbage, and free music making. The main emphasis is put on the creation of the workshop participants’ own music and sound expression. The next point will be a screening of “Mr. Kleks’ Academy”. Participation in the morning is free.

At 6 PM, we would like to invite you to the “Evening with Korzyński”. It will include: a screening of the documentary “Andrzej Korzyński – The Lost Diamond”, meeting with Andrzej Korzyński and Grzegorz Brzozowicz (music journalist, director of the film about A. Korzyński) and a concert – Filip Siejka Band plays Korzyński. Filip Siejka Band will perform in the following lineup: Filip Siejka – violin, Tomasz Torres – drums, Paweł Gawlik – bass, Kamil Barański – keyboards.
