Clan of Xymox is a band well-known to Polish fans thanks to Tomasz Beksiński’s programmes, great albums and numerous club and festival performances. Considered a true „classic” of the dark wave movement, the group formed in the Dutch city of Nijmegen in 1981. Initially, it operated as a duo comprising: Ronny Moorings (keyboards, guitar, vocals) and Anke Wolbert (bass guitar, vocals). Since signing with 4AD in 1985, they have recorded several albums appreciated at the time (and still highly regarded) by both fans and journalists, among them their excellent 1986 release „Medusa”. The following Clan of Xymox albums were released by Universal Music, Trisol and Metropolis Records. Their best releases include: „Creatures” (1999), „Notes Of The Underground” (2001), „Farewell” (2003), „Breaking Point” (2006), „In Love We Trust” (2009), „Darkest Hour” (2011) and „Matters Of Mind, Body and Soul” (2014). For a brief period, the group operated under the name Xymox, releasing four albums.
To date, they have released eighteen studio albums (as Clan of Xymox and Xymox), two DVDs, a live album, the compilation album „The Best Of” and a cover album, „Kindred Spirits” (2012). Their last album to date, „Exodus”, was released in April 2024. The band has toured both large venues and small clubs.
The live line-up of Clan Of Xymox includes: Ronny Moorings: keyboards, guitar, vocals; Mojca: bass guitar; Mario: guitar, bass guitar; Sean: keyboards, vocals; Daniel: keyboards. Ronny Moorings, who composes and records in his own studio „The Torture Chamber”, remains the leader since the band’s inception.
Clan of Xymox, The Wolfgang Press, New Model Army and Juno Reactor will perform on 27 October (Sunday) during the 16th edition of the Soundedit International Festival of Music Producers and Sound Designers in Klub Wytwórnia (Łódź, ul.
